FLOODING MAY DEVELOP IN THE ONSLOW COAST, LYNDON-MINILYA, WOORAMEL
AND MURCHINSON RIVER CATCHMENTS
A trough lies through the central west coast and extends into the
Gascoyne. A low pressure system moves southwards close to the far
west Pilbara coast later Thursday and then the Gascoyne coast on
Friday.
The catchments are generally dry with no significant rainfall
having been recorded in the last week.
Daily rainfall totals between 50-100 mm are possible along the
coast, with isolated totals of similar values possible further
inland. Rainfall is expected to continue in the Flood Watch areas
into the weekend.
Flooding of low lying areas and river rises are expected. Many
roads, and possibly primary and secondary highways, may be
affected. Some communities and homesteads may become isolated.
Check road conditions before travelling.

Onslow Coast
Lyndon-Minilya Rivers
Wooramel River
Murchison River

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is
possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch
water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may
be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered.
Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.
