Heavy rainfall continuing north of Beaudesert.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 9:50 pm, severe
thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Tamborine and
Jimboomba. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They
are forecast to affect Nerang, Mount Tamborine and Coomera by 10:50
pm.
Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely.
Goolman Alert recorded 71mm in 30 minutes 20:45
Tenthill Alert recorded 27 mm in 15 minutes to 18:23
Grandchester Alert recorded 40 mm in 30 minutes to 19:15
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded,
forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
