The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:35 am, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area southeast of Warwick, the area east of Warwick and Mount Mee. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Caboolture, Landsborough and Crohamhurst by 3:05 am and Boonah, Caloundra and the area southwest of Caloundra by 3:35 am.
Damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding are likely.

Giant hail around 5 to 6cm was recorded just west of Inglewood around 12:10am.
Giant hail around 5cm was recorded at Windera around 7:30 - 8pm.
A 93 km/h wind gust was recorded at Dalby 7:15 pm.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
