For people in Logan, Brisbane City and parts of Ipswich, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Gold Coast, Redland City and Moreton Bay Council Areas.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:20 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Ipswich and Upper Brookfield. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Brisbane CBD, Logan City and Samford by 6:50 pm and Beenleigh, Cleveland and Strathpine by 7:20 pm.

Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
