For people in Cherbourg and parts of Ipswich, Gympie, Logan,
Scenic Rim, South Burnett, Gold Coast, Redland City and Brisbane
City Council Areas.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:50 pm, severe
thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Upper
Brookfield, Enoggera Reservoir, Woodridge and Southport. These
thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to
affect Brisbane CBD, Beenleigh and Logan City by 3:20 pm and the
area northeast of Kingaroy, Tingalpa Reservoir and Cherbourg by
3:50 pm.
Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds
are likely.
Beaudesert has recorded 67mm in 1hr to 2pm.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded,
forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
