Severe thunderstorms producing heavy, possibly intense rainfall about the southeast.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:10 am, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Laidley and the area south of Esk. These thunderstorms are moving towards the southeast. They are forecast to affect Grandchester, Hatton Vale and the area northwest of Cunninghams Gap by 7:40 am and Rosewood, Marburg and Lowood by 8:10 am.

Intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding is likely.

43mm recorded at Little Egypt Alert in 30min to 6:30am.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
