Weather Situation:
Northeast to northerly winds ahead of a vigorous southwesterly
change extending from the west.
Northerly winds 35 to 50 km/h ahead of a cooler, squally
southwesterly change extending from the west. Damaging
southwesterly winds averaging 50-70 km/h with and following the
change, with gusts of 90-100 km/h possible.
The change was near Coober Pedy at 3:00 pm and will continue to
move eastwards to reach eastern parts of the warning area mid
evening.
Areas of raised dust are also likely ahead of and following the
change.
Locations which may be affected include Marla, Coober Pedy, Roxby
Downs, Leigh Creek, Marree and Woomera.
Severe weather is no longer occurring in the West Coast district
and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.
Gale force winds have been averaging 60 to 70 km/h at Coober Pedy
this afternoon between 3 pm and 430 pm, with gusts up to 85 km/h
and areas of dust.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are
severe.
