Severe thunderstorms are continuing over the north and west of the
State.
Weather Situation: A very humid and unstable northerly airmass,
ahead of a trough of low pressure over the Eyre Peninsula and the
North West Pastoral district is leading to the development of
severe thunderstorms.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and
heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area
over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected
include Elliston, Streaky Bay, Mungeranie on the Birdsville Track
and the Strzelecki Track south of Moomba.
Woomera recorded 34.4 mm in the 1 hour until 4.47 pm.
Marree recorded 36 mm in the 2 hours to 4.30 pm.
Pfitzners Well recorded 42.8 mm in the 2 hours to 5.54pm.
Leigh Creek recorded 42.4mm in the 2 hours to 6.11pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
