Issued at 1:53 pm Thursday, 3 March 2022.

Severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall developing over the Darling Downs and Wide Bay and Burnett.

Weather Situation: A moist and unstable airmass is in place over the eastern Darling Downs, with even stronger instability developing over the northern Wide Bay and Burnett and southern Capricornia districts to the north of a surface trough around the Hervey Bay area. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Warwick, Dalby, Bundaberg, Kingaroy, Hervey Bay and Stanthorpe.
