Severe thunderstorms continue to move east towards the coast over
southeast Queensland.
Weather Situation: A southeasterly change is moving through
southeast Queensland into a humid, unstable air mass.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and
large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours.
Locations which may be affected include Dalby, Gympie, Kingaroy,
Noosa Heads, Cherbourg and Rainbow Beach.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central
Highlands and Coalfields district and the warning for this district
is CANCELLED.
Widespread reports of hail up to 3-4cm through western and
northern Brisbane.
100 km/h gust at Brisbane Airport at 5:50pm.
107 km/h gust at Inner Beacon in Moreton Bay at 6:10pm.
Roof damage reported in Roma by SES.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
