Thunderstorms activity expected to increase in coverage and intensity in the next few hours.

Weather Situation: A trough and associated dryline will continue to aid severe thunderstorm development for the remainder of the afternoon period.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging, locally destructive winds and large, possibly giant hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Locations which may be affected include Cunnamulla, Eulo and Barringun.

Locations which may be affected include Cunnamulla, Quilpie, Hungerford, Adavale, Barringun and Wyandra.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
