Weather Situation: A strong upper low is combining with a deepening surface trough and an developing embedded low to produce intense and slow-moving thunderstorms. A separate Severe Weather Warning is also current for this area.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Eidsvold and areas southwest of Eidsvold as well as areas between Seventeen Seventy and Bundaberg.

Canaan Creek (N of Chinchilla) recorded 83 mm in 1 hour to 5:15 am.

Hills Road (SSE of Seventeen Seventy) recorded 142 mm in 1 hour to 5 am.

Rapleys (S of Seventeen Seventy) recorded 116mm in 1 hour to 3:45am.

Fred Haigh Highway recorded 122 mm in 1 hour to 2:45 am.

Old Range Rd (near Biggenden) recorded 90mm in 30 minutes & 161mm in 1 hour to 2:45 am.

Paradise Dam recorded 75mm in 30 minutes and 124mm in 1 hour to 12:30 am.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
