VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS WITH INTENSE RAINFALL EXTENDING FROM
1770 TO BIGGENDEN.
Weather Situation: A strong upper low is combining with a
deepening surface trough to produce intense and slow-moving
thunderstorms. A separate Severe Weather Warning is also current
for this area.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce intense rainfall that
may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding over the
next several hours in parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett district.
Locations which may be affected include Childers, Biggenden and Gin
Gin.

Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.
Locations which may be affected include communities between
Chinchilla and Eidsvold.
Fred Haigh Highway recorded 122 mm in 1 hour to 2:45 am.
Old Range Rd (near Biggenden) recorded 90mm in 30 minutes &
161mm in 1 hour to 2:45 am.
Paradise Dam recorded 75mm in 30 minutes and 124mm in 1 hour to
12:30 am.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded,
forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
