INTENSE RAINFALL OCCURRING OVER AREAS AROUND BIGGENDEN AND
PARADISE DAM.
Weather Situation: An upper low is combining with a surface trough
to promote slow-moving thunderstorms.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce intense rainfall that
may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding over the
next several hours in parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett district.
Locations which may be affected include Biggenden and Paradise
Dam.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may
lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the
Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.
Locations which may be affected include Chinchilla.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central
Highlands and Coalfields and Maranoa and Warrego districts and the
warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
Paradise Dam recorded 87mm in 1 hour to 12:30 am.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded,
forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
