For people in Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Wide Bay and
Burnett, Southeast Coast and parts of Gulf Country, North Tropical
Coast and Tablelands, Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Central Highlands
and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country, Capricornia, Maranoa
and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt Forecast
Districts.

Severe thunderstorms are occurring over parts of the state.
Weather Situation: A very humid and unstable airmass sits over the
majority of the state, with high levels of moisture extending deep
into the upper atmosphere ahead of a trough of low pressure moving
across the southwest. Thunderstorms are expected to be relatively
slow-moving, and persist into the evening.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may
lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several
hours. Locations which may be affected include Warwick, Gold Coast,
Toowoomba, Brisbane, Dalby, Maroochydore, Roma, Charleville,
Gympie, Charters Towers, Georgetown, Kingaroy, Stanthorpe,
Coolangatta and Ipswich.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the North West
district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.
Forestdale (Southeast Coast) recorded 45 mm in 30 min (around 3
pm)
Hillcrest (Southeast Coast) recorded 51 mm in 30 min (around 3
pm)
Pomona (Southeast Coast) recorded 73 mm in the 30 minutes to 5
pm.
Black Mountain (Southeast Coast) recorded 67 mm in the 30 minutes
to 5 pm.
Cooroy (Southeast Coast) recorded 63 mm in the 30 minutes to 5
pm.
Nearum Rd Alert near Gin Gin recorded 69 mm in the 1 hour to 5.24
pm.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded,
forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
