For people in Central Coast and Whitsundays and parts of Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett Forecast Districts.

Thunderstorms with possible heavy rainfall and damaging winds extending north into the Herbert & Lower Burdekin, moving off the coast to the south.

Weather Situation: An extremely moist airmass ahead of a prefrontal trough and cold front will continue to produce highly unstable conditions across parts of eastern Queensland.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Mackay, Proserpine, Bowen, Fraser Island, Yeppoon, Collinsville, Hamilton Island, Ingham and Sarina.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central Highlands and Coalfields district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
