For people in parts of Peninsula, North Tropical Coast and
Tablelands, Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and
Coalfields, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and
Granite Belt Forecast Districts.

Severe thunderstorms continuing in eastern Queensland.
Weather Situation: Thunderstorms are triggering to the east of a
trough and dry-line this afternoon. A humid easterly change moving
inland is expected to increase thunderstorm activity this evening
in central eastern parts of the state.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large
hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over
the next several hours in parts of the Central Coast and
Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Wide
Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.
Locations which may be affected include Biloela, Blackwater,
Moranbah, Collinsville, Mount Morgan and Tara.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and
heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next
several hours in parts of the Peninsula and North Tropical Coast
and Tablelands districts. Locations which may be affected include
Mareeba, Atherton and Chillagoe.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Northern
Goldfields and Upper Flinders district and the warning for this
district is CANCELLED.
Silver Valley (west of Innisfail) recorded 63mm of rainfall in the
1 hour to 5:20pm.
A wind gust to 102km/h was recorded at Proserpine Airport at
2:10pm.
Saddler Springs recorded 61mm of rainfall in the 90 minutes to
1:00pm.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded,
forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
