Isolated storms capable of damaging winds gusts likely over
southern inland Queensland.
Weather Situation: A hot, moderately unstable airmass extends over
southern inland Queensland to the north of a trough system over
northern New South Wales. The environment will favour strong to
damaging wind gusts with any storms that develop in the area over
the next few hours.
Scattered severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging
winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations
which may be affected include Thargomindah, Cunnamulla, Bollon,
Dirranbandi, Bulloo Downs, Eulo, Orientos, Ballera, Hebel and
Mungindi.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
