AREAS OF FLOODING POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS

Heavy rainfall is possible from Cooktown to Cardwell over the next few days.

Catchments are wetting up from rainfall over the last few days, and are likely to respond quickly to further rainfall,

Further heavy rainfall is possible across the Flood Watch area during Friday and across the weekend.

River level rises are likely over the next few days with minor flooding possible. Localised flooding and some disruption to transport routes may occur.

River level rises are likely in the following catchments:

Endeavour River

Daintree River

Mossman River

Mulgrave and Russell Rivers

Tully River

Murray River
