FLOOD WARNINGS ARE CURRENT FOR NSW COASTAL RIVERS FROM THE NSW
NORTHERN RIVERS TO THE SOUTH COAST INCLUDING GREATER SYDNEY
A low pressure system is expected to deepen and develop into an
East Coast Low near the Hunter Coast and track south during
Tuesday. This system is forecast to bring heavy to locally intense
rainfall across the central and southern coast and ranges.
Flood warnings are current for NSW coastal rivers from the NSW
northern rivers to the south coast including Greater Sydney.
A Severe Weather Warning is current for people in Hunter,
Metropolitan, Illawarra, South Coast and parts of Central
Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains Forecast
Districts.
The weather system is expected to cause local and riverine
flooding for the catchments listed from Tuesday. Flood classes
(minor, moderate, major) are only defined for catchments where the
Bureau provides a flood warning service. This list does not include
catchments where flood warnings are current.

Central Coast
Upper Coxs River
Macdonald River
Northern Sydney
Southern Sydney
Parramatta River
Cooks Riverminor flooding
Illawarra Coast
Clyde River
Tuross River
Flood warnings are current in the following catchments: Richmond,
Clarence, Orara, Bellinger, Macleay, Hastings, Manning, Paterson,
Williams, Hunter, Wollombi, Tuggerah Lake, Hawkesbury Nepean, Colo,
Georges, Shoalhaven, St Georges Basin, Moruya, Bega, Lower
Macintyre River, Barwon, Paroo, Lachlan and Snowy.

Flood Safety Advice:
This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers
and streams must monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings
and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding
develop.
Flood Warnings will be issued if Minor Flood Level is expected to
be exceeded at key sites along the main rivers for which the Bureau
of Meteorology provides a flood warning service.
Severe Weather Warnings will be issued or updated if very heavy
rain is forecast or observed.
