FLOODING POSSIBLE FOR NSW CENTRAL AND NORTHWEST INLAND RIVERS AND
MIDNORTH COAST
A inland low pressure system is expected to deepen during Sunday
and generate widespread rainfall to parts of the NSW mid-north
coast, hunter, and the central northern inland. This rainfall may
cause minor flooding across inland rivers in the Central and
Northern parts of the State as well as parts of the mid-north coast
from Sunday into next week.
Catchments likely to be affected by flooding are currently
saturated following rainfall through mid November.
The forecast weather system is expected to cause flooding for the
catchments listed from Sunday into Monday. Flood Classes (minor,
moderate, major) are only defined for catchments where the Bureau
provides a flood warning service.
Catchments likely to be affected include:
Orara River minor flooding
Bellinger and Kalang Rivers minor flooding
Hastings River minor flooding
Manning and Gloucester Rivers minor flooding
Goulburn and Upper Hunter Rivers minor flooding
Upper Macintyre River minor flooding
Gwydir River minor flooding
Peel River minor flooding
Castlereagh River minor flooding
Orange, Molong and Bell River minor flooding
Flood warnings are current for the following catchments: Namoi,
Macquarie, Lachlan and Paroo Rivers.

This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers
and streams must monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings
and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding
develop.
Flood Warnings will be issued if Minor Flood Level is expected to
be exceeded at key sites along the main rivers for which the Bureau
of Meteorology provides a flood warning service.
Severe Weather Warnings will be issued or updated if very heavy
rain is forecast or observed.
